This is\u00a0the first time\u00a0that Khelo India Youth Games are being held in South India.<\/li>\n<li>The Games will be played across\u00a0four cities of Tamil Nadu, namely Chennai, Madurai, Trichy\u00a0and Coimbatore from 19th to 31st January 2024.<\/li>\n<li>This edition of Khelo India Youth Games will see participation from over 5600 athletes with over 275 competitive events across\u00a026 sports disciplines and 1 demo sport.<\/li>\n<li>Silambam, a traditional sport of Tamil Nadu, is being introduced as a\u00a0demo sport for the first time in the history of Khelo India Youth Games and\u00a0the sport of Squash\u00a0shall be organised for\u00a0the first time in this edition of the Games.<\/li>\n<li>The Mascot:&#8217;Veera Mangai&#8217;.\u00a0<i>Rani Velu Nachiyar,\u00a0<\/i>fondly known as Veera Mangai, was an Indian queen who waged a war against British colonial rule.<\/li>\n<li>The logo: The figure of poet Thiruvalluvar.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Background<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Objective:\u00a0To revive the sports culture in India at the grass-root level by building a strong framework for all sports played in our country and establish India as a great sporting nation.<\/li>\n<li>It is an annual event. The\u00a0first edition was held in 2018 in Delhi.<\/li>\n<li>Organised by: Ministry of Youth Affairs &amp; Sports.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) Who was Rani Velu Nachiyar,?<\/h3>\n<p>She was the first queen to have ever actively opposed British rule and fought against colonial rulers many years before the Sepoy Mutiny.
