{"id":19608,"date":"2024-01-20T08:55:11","date_gmt":"2024-01-20T03:25:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=19608"},"modified":"2025-04-05T18:43:34","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T13:13:34","slug":"slim-japan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/slim-japan\/","title":{"rendered":"Japan\u2019s Moon Mission &#8211; SLIM"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About SLIM<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>SLIM was launched by the\u00a0Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in September 2023 aboard the H-IIA rocket from the Tanegashima spaceport.<\/li>\n<li>It aims to demonstrate precision landing within 100 metres through new technologies.<\/li>\n<li>It also carried two mini robotic rovers developed by\u00a0Sony\u00a0and\u00a0Tomy\u00a0for reconnaissance.<\/li>\n<li>The mission aims to revitalise Japan&#8217;s space program which suffered setbacks like the failure of the flagship H3 rocket in March 2023.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Objectives<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The mission aims to observe X-rays coming from deep space and to identify their wavelengths with unprecedented precision.<\/li>\n<li>It will use state-of-the-art spectroscopy to measure changes in the brightness of celestial objects at different wavelengths.<\/li>\n<li>It detects X-rays with energies ranging from\u00a0400 to 12,000 electron volts.
