Comprising three dedicated Earth observation satellites, including INSAT-3D and INSAT-3DR already in orbit.<\/li>\n<li>It will launched by using the\u00a0Geosynchronous Launch Vehicle (GSLV-F14).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What is GSLV-F14?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a more advanced rocket utilising liquid propellant.<\/li>\n<li>The rocket, distinguished by its\u00a0higher capacity and the use of\u00a0cryogenic liquid propellants in all\u00a0three stages, presents a more complex engineering challenge but allows for a substantially higher lift-off weight capacity.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Key facts about INSAT-3DR<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an\u00a0advanced meteorological satellite of India configured with an imaging System and an Atmospheric Sounder.<\/li>\n<li>The significant improvements incorporated in INSAT-3DR are:\n<ul>\n<li>Imaging in Middle Infrared band to\u00a0provide night time pictures of low clouds and fog<\/li>\n<li>Imaging in two Thermal Infrared bands for estimation of\u00a0Sea Surface Temperature (SST) with better accuracy<\/li>\n<li>Higher Spatial Resolution in the Visible and Thermal Infrared bands<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Payloads:\u00a0INSAT-3DR carries a multi spectral Imager, 19 channel Sounder, Data Relay Transponder and Search and Rescue Transponder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are Cryogenic liquids?<\/h3>\n<p>They have boiling points below minus 130o F (minus 90o C) and are used in research to provide extremely low temperatures for frozen storage and experimentation.
