There are\u00a065,000 regular H-1B visas each year, and an\u00a0additional\u00a020,000\u00a0visas\u00a0are\u00a0reserved for\u00a0applicants\u00a0with advanced degrees.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Some exceptions to the H-1B visa cap\u00a0include people\u00a0entering the U.S.\u00a0to work in higher education or affiliated research\/non-profit organizations.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants are selected for adjudication\u00a0via lottery system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Features:\n<ul>\n<li>The H-1B visa is\u00a0valid for three years and can be\u00a0extended one time for an additional\u00a0three years. It allows large multinationals (need not be a US company) &#8211; with operations across various countries &#8211; to shift employees in specialized positions on a temporary basis to the US. There are two types of L1 visas &#8211; L1A and L1B. Managers and executives come under the category of L1As while L1Bs encompass workers with specialized knowledge. There is no education requirement for the L1 visa.
