Lalitaditya Muktapida was the\u00a0third ruler of the Karkota Dynasty.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Features:\n<ul>\n<li>It has a\u00a0unique architecture where local\u00a0Kashmiri style is\u00a0blended with the architectural styles of\u00a0Gupta, Chinese, Gandhara, Roman, and Greek.<\/li>\n<li>The temple is\u00a0located on top of a plateau and has been\u00a0constructed entirely out of stone.<\/li>\n<li>It covers an area of 32,000 square feet.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It\u00a0stands in the middle of a large courtyard\u00a0with 86 fluted columns. The courtyard is connected to the main shrine, where Sun God\u2019s idol was installed.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The construction of the main shrine was such that during most of the days\u2019 time, especially\u00a0during sunrise and sunset, the rays would directly fall on the idol.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0central shrine, or vimana, stands tall at around 60 feet. It\u00a0features intricate carvings and sculptures that\u00a0depict various Hindu gods and goddesses.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>There are\u00a084 smaller shrines around the main Sun Temple.
