style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In response to a question asked in the Rajya Sabha, the Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying responded that the amount of loan sanctioned under the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) is \u20b9 10,320 Crores.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF)<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a \u20b9<\/span><b>15,000 crores central sector scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the prime minister\u2019s <\/span><b>\u201cAtma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan\u201d stimulus package.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is aimed at <\/span><b>boosting investments in animal husbandry infrastructure.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Implementing Agency: Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Objectives:\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>expand milk and meat processing capacity<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and help small rural producers connect with organised markets.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To ensure that livestock farmers get <\/span><b>better prices <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for their milk, meat, and other animal products.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To make <\/span><b>good-quality milk and meat products<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that can be easily available for people across the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>meet <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the <\/span><b>growing demand for protein-rich food <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and help <\/span><b>reduce malnutrition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, especially among children.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>encourage entrepreneurship<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and create more job opportunities in the livestock sector.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>promote exports<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and increase the export contribution in the milk and meat sector.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To make available<\/span><b> quality concentrated animals feed.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The scheme will <\/span><b>incentivize investments for\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Dairy processing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>value addition infrastructure.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Meat processing <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and value addition <\/span><b>infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Animal Feed Plant.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Breed multiplication farm.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Animal Waste to Wealth Management<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Agri-waste management).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Veterinary vaccine and drug production<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> facilities.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>eligible beneficiaries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the Scheme would be:<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Farmer Producer Organization (FPO)<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Private companies<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Individual entrepreneurs<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Section 8 companies<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises<\/span><b> (MSMEs)<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF) <\/b><b>Benefits<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>beneficiaries <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are to <\/span><b>contribute a minimum of 10% <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">margin money as investment. The<\/span><b> balance 90%<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> would be the <\/span><b>loan component <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to be <\/span><b>made available by scheduled banks.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>Government <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of India will <\/span><b>provide 3% interest subvention<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to eligible beneficiaries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Repayment Period: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maximum of <\/span><b>8 years, including<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a <\/span><b>moratorium period of 2 years.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From the Credit Guarantee Fund, <\/span><b>Credit guarantee <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">would be provided to those sanctioned projects which are covered under MSME-defined ceilings.
