It can be mild or severe and can <strong>affect many parts of the body<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Discoid lupus<\/strong> causes a <strong>red rash that doesn&#8217;t go away.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Subacute cutaneous lupus<\/strong> causes <strong>sores after being out in the sun.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Drug-induced lupus<\/strong> is caused by certain medicines. It usually goes away when you stop taking the medicine.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Neonatal lupus<\/strong>, which is rare, <strong>affects newborns.<\/strong> It is probably caused by certain antibodies from the mother.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Symptoms<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/h4>\n<p>Lupus can have many symptoms, and they <strong>differ from person to person<\/strong>. Some of the more common ones are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pain or <strong>swelling in joints<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Muscle pain<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Fever<\/strong> with no known cause<\/li>\n<li><strong>Red rashes<\/strong>, most often on the face (also called the &#8220;<strong>butterfly rash&#8221;<\/strong>)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chest pain<\/strong> when taking a deep breath<\/li>\n<li><strong>Hair loss<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Pale or purple fingers or toes<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sensitivity to the sun<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Treatment<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>There is <strong>no cure for lupus<\/strong>, but medicines and lifestyle changes can help control it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1<\/strong>: What is the immune system?\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>It is a complex network of cells, tissues, organs, and the substances they make that helps the body fight infections and other diseases.
