{"id":20217,"date":"2024-02-07T06:53:44","date_gmt":"2024-02-07T01:23:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=20217"},"modified":"2025-04-05T23:10:08","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T17:40:08","slug":"pradhan-mantri-bhartiya-jan-aushadhi-kendras","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pradhan-mantri-bhartiya-jan-aushadhi-kendras\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>These are set up under <strong>Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana<\/strong>, which was launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in November 2008.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong> To provide quality medicines at affordable prices for all, particularly the poor, so as to reduce out-of-pocket expenses in healthcare.<\/li>\n<li>These Kendra\u2019s provide generic drugs, which are available at lesser prices but are equivalent in quality and efficacy as expensive branded drugs.<\/li>\n<li>All therapeutic medicines are made available from Jan Aushadhi Stores.<\/li>\n<li>Jan Aushadhi stores also <strong>sell allied medical products<\/strong> commonly sold in chemist shops so as to improve the viability of running the Jan Aushadhi store.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Pharmaceutical &amp; Medical Devices Bureau of India<\/strong> (PMBI) has been established under the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Govt. of India, with the support of all the CPSUs for co-coordinating <strong>procurement, supply, and marketing <\/strong>of generic drugs through the PMBKs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Who is eligible to open a Jan Aushadhi Kendra?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>State Governments or any organization \/ reputed <strong>NGOs <\/strong>\/ Trusts \/ <strong>Private hospitals<\/strong> \/ charitable institutions \/ Doctors \/ Unemployed pharmacists\/ individual entrepreneurs are eligible to apply for the new Jan Aushadhi Kendra.<\/li>\n<li>The applicants shall have to employ one B Pharma \/ D Pharma degree holder as Pharmacist in their proposed store.<\/li>\n<li>Primary Agricultural Credit Societies.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1:What is the Pharmaceuticals &amp; Medical Devices Bureau of India?<\/h3>\n<p>\u00a0Pharmaceuticals &amp; Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) is the implementing agency of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).
