{"id":20221,"date":"2024-02-07T03:58:17","date_gmt":"2024-02-06T22:28:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=20221"},"modified":"2025-04-05T23:11:39","modified_gmt":"2025-04-05T17:41:39","slug":"samarth-centres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/samarth-centres\/","title":{"rendered":"SAMARTH Centres"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About SAMARTH Centres:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The<strong> Smart Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hub<\/strong> (SAMARTH) centres are set up under the Scheme for \u201cEnhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector.<\/li>\n<li>These centres have been <strong>providing assistance to the MSMEs<\/strong> to train the workforce and make them aware about Industry 4.0 technologies in the following ways:<\/li>\n<li>Organizing Seminars\/ Workshops and knowledge sharing events on Industry 4.0;<\/li>\n<li>Training industries to create awareness about <strong>Industry 4.0;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Providing <strong>consultancy<\/strong> (in areas such as IOT Hardware, Software development, data analytics) and <strong>incubation support<\/strong> to start- ups including MSMEs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Key facts about the Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector scheme<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>It has been launched by the Ministry<strong> of Heavy Industries<\/strong> to address the technological obsolescence, limited access to quality industrial infrastructure and common facilities.<\/li>\n<li>In order to <strong>address the skill gaps and infrastructure developmentand<\/strong> technology needs for the Capital Goods Sector, <strong>Phase I <\/strong>of the Capital Goods scheme was rolled out in November <strong>2014.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Phase I of the scheme fostered partnerships between Academia and Industry for engendering technology development with Government support.<\/li>\n<li>The objective of <strong>Phase II <\/strong>(on January 25, 2022) is to expand and enlarge the impact created by Phase I pilot scheme, thereby providing greater impetus through creation of a strong and globally competitive capital goods sector that contributes at least 25% to the manufacturing sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Components of the Scheme<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Identification of Technologies<\/strong> through Technology Innovation Portals<\/li>\n<li>Setting up of four <strong>New Advanced Centres<\/strong> of Excellence and augmentation of Existing Centres of Excellence<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promotion of skilling<\/strong> in Capital Goods Sector\u2013creation of Qualification packages for skill levels 6 and above<\/li>\n<li>Setting up of four <strong>Common Engineering Facility Centres<\/strong> (CEFCs) and augmentation of existing CEFCs<\/li>\n<li>Augmentation of Existing Testing and Certification Centres<\/li>\n<li>Setting up of ten Industry Accelerators for Technology Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1:What is Industry 4.0 ?<\/h3>\n<p>It can be defined as the integration of intelligent digital technologies into manufacturing and industrial processes.
