{"id":20260,"date":"2026-01-24T11:07:04","date_gmt":"2026-01-24T05:37:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=20260"},"modified":"2026-01-24T15:08:59","modified_gmt":"2026-01-24T09:38:59","slug":"pli-white-goods","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pli-white-goods\/","title":{"rendered":"PLI Scheme for White Goods"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>PLI Scheme for White Goods Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, five companies have been selected under the PLI Scheme for white goods.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About PLI Scheme for White Goods<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It aims to create a <\/span><b>robust domestic component ecosystem<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the <\/span><b>Air Conditioners and LED Lights industry<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and position India as an integral part of the global supply chains.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Objectives:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It proposes a <\/span><b>financial incentive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to boost domestic manufacturing and attract large investments in the White Goods manufacturing value chain.<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Its prime objectives include removing sectoral disabilities, creating economies of scale, enhancing exports, creating a robust component ecosystem and employment generation.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Incentives:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The scheme will extend an <\/span><b>incentive of 4-6% on incremental turnover over<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> base year (2019-20) of goods sold in India and exported to global markets, to eligible companies for a period of 5 years.<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Eligibility<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><b>Applicants can be any company<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that should be incorporated in India <\/span><b>under the provisions of the Company Act, 2013.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Eligibility shall be subject to the <\/span><b>achievement of thresholds of net incremental sales<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of Eligible Products for the respective financial year over the base year and cumulative incremental investment in the preceding financial year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any entity availing benefits under any other PLI Scheme of Govt. of India will not be eligible under this scheme for the same products.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Duration:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is to be implemented over FY 2021-22 to FY 2028-29<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The scheme was notified by the <\/span><b>Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2217743&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PLI Scheme for White Goods aims to create a robust domestic component ecosystem for the Air Conditioners and LED Lights industry.
