{"id":20287,"date":"2026-09-29T11:25:55","date_gmt":"2026-09-29T05:55:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=20287"},"modified":"2026-09-29T15:48:58","modified_gmt":"2026-09-29T10:18:58","slug":"pm-mkssy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/pm-mkssy\/","title":{"rendered":"Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The government is seeking to make insurance an integral part of aquaculture risk management through the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana (PM-MKSSY).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>Central Sector Sub-scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the <\/span><b>Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana launched in 2024.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It focuses on <\/span><b>formalization of the fisheries sector<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>supporting fisheries micro and small enterprises.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Funding:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> With an investment of over <\/span><b>Rs. 6,000 crores<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Time Period:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is implemented for <\/span><b>4 years from FY 2023-24 to FY 2026-27<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> across all the States and UTs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Objectives<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Gradual Formalization<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the unorganized fisheries sector<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Facilitating access to institutional financing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> fisheries sector micro and small enterprises<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Providing one-time incentive<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to beneficiaries for purchasing aquaculture insurance.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>lncentivizing fisheries and aquaculture<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> microenterprises through performance grants<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Incentivising adoption and expansion<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of fish and fishery product safety and quality assurance systems<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Intended Beneficiaries<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Fishers, Fish (Aquaculture) Farmers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Fish workers, Fish Vendors or such other persons directly engaged in fisheries value chain.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Micro and Small enterprises<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Cooperatives, Federations Self Help Groups (SHGs), <\/span><b>Fish Farmers Producer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Organizations (FFPOs) etc<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FFPOs also include <\/span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/farmers-producer-organisations-fpos\/\" target=\"_blank\">Farmers Producer Organizations (FPOs)<\/a>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Any other beneficiaries that may be included by the Department of Fisheries, Gol as targeted beneficiaries<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Implementation Strategy of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Component 1-A:<\/b> <b>Formalization of fisheries sector<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A <\/span><b>National Fisheries Digital Platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (NFDP) is created and all the stakeholders will be mobilized to register on it.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It serves <\/span><b>multiple functions including disbursement<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of financial incentives.
