Dosti was last conducted in 2021.<\/li>\n<li>The exercises have focused on\u00a0exercises and drills on providing assistance in sea accidents, eliminating sea pollution, and the coast guard\u2019s procedures and conduct during situations such as oil spills.<\/li>\n<li>The aim of the exercise is to\u00a0further fortify the friendship,\u00a0enhance mutual operational capability, exercise\u00a0interoperability and build cooperation between the Coast Guards of India, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Dosti 16:\n<ul>\n<li>It is the 16th edition of the exercise.<\/li>\n<li>The Coast Guards of the Maldives, India, and Sri Lanka, along with\u00a0observers from Bangladesh, is participating in Dosti 16 to enhance collaboration between the forces.<\/li>\n<li>India is sending ICGS Samarth (with integral helo), ICGS Abhinav, and ICG Dornier for the exercise.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is the Indian Coast Guard?<\/h3>\n<p>It is an armed force that protects India&#8217;s maritime interests and enforces maritime law, with jurisdiction over the territorial waters of India, including its contiguous zone and exclusive economic zone.
