{"id":20917,"date":"2024-02-26T01:22:53","date_gmt":"2024-02-25T19:52:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=20917"},"modified":"2025-04-06T08:32:15","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T03:02:15","slug":"samar-certificates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/samar-certificates\/","title":{"rendered":"SAMAR Assessment Certificates"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About SAMAR Assessment Certificates<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>System for Advance Manufacturing Assessment and Rating (SAMAR) certificate\u00a0is a benchmark to measure the competency of\u00a0defence manufacturing enterprises.<\/li>\n<li>It is an outcome of the collaboration between\u00a0DRDO and Quality Council of India (QCI) to strengthen the defence manufacturing ecosystem in the country with an objective to further the vision of making India self- reliant in defence manufacturing.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Objective:\n<ul>\n<li>Provide an objective\u00a0assessment of manufacturing capability of Defence Manufacturing Enterprises<\/li>\n<li>Enable enterprises to benchmark their performance across a range of business capabilities to enhance quality, reliability and competitiveness<\/li>\n<li>Create a\u00a0credible database of Defence manufacturers for ease in vendor selection and development<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen the Defence manufacturing ecosystem in the country with an objective to realize the vision of making India self-reliant in Defence manufacturing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Eligibility: All defence manufacturing enterprises,\u00a0both MSME and Large enterprises, are eligible to apply for this certification.<\/li>\n<li>Validity: It is\u00a0valid for a period of 2 years from the date of issuance of certificate.<\/li>\n<li>The certification is based on a\u00a0maturity assessment model developed by QCI and is applicable to all defence manufacturing enterprises i.e., micro, small, medium and large enterprises.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>\u00a0Q1) What is the Quality Council of India?<\/h3>\n<p>It was established in 1997 jointly by the Department for Promotion of Industry &amp; Internal Trade (DPIIT), the Ministry of Commerce &amp; Industry, and the Indian industry.
