{"id":20982,"date":"2024-02-27T06:55:43","date_gmt":"2024-02-27T01:25:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=20982"},"modified":"2025-04-06T08:58:23","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T03:28:23","slug":"third-party-application-provider","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/third-party-application-provider\/","title":{"rendered":"Third-Party Application Provider"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP)<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an entity that provides\u00a0the UPI compliant app(s) to the end-user customers to facilitate UPI-based payment transactions.<\/li>\n<li>These applications could be\u00a0mobile wallets, merchant apps, or any other platform that utilises UPI for payments.<\/li>\n<li>NPCI, the umbrella organisation for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India, owns and operates the UPI platform.<\/li>\n<li>Working of TPAPs\n<ul>\n<li>TPAPs\u00a0leverage the UPI infrastructure provided by NPCI and work with payment service providers (PSPs) and banks to facilitate transactions.<\/li>\n<li>They are responsible for ensuring that their applications adhere to security standards and compliance guidelines set by NPCI.<\/li>\n<li>As per the current regulations, payment service providers (PSPs) need to obtain a\u00a0TPAP license from NPCI to run UPI services and facilitate merchant transactions through partner banks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Currently, there are 22 NPCI-approved 3rd party Unified Payments Interface (UPI) apps that can be used to send and receive money from other UPI users by using UPI IDs.<\/li>\n<li>They include Amazon Pay, Google Pay, Groww, Jupiter Money, Mobikwik, Phonepe, Samsung Pay, TataNeu and Whatsapp.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI)?<\/h3>\n<p>It is an umbrella organisation for operating retail payments and settlement systems in India.
