Intelligence (AI) courses on the Swayam Portal to help students stay updated with the rising demand for AI skills.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About SWAYAM Portal<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">SWAYAM (<\/span><b>Study Webs of Active\u2013Learning for Young Aspiring Minds<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) is India\u2019s own MOOCs (<\/span><b>Massive Open Online Course) platform<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the <\/span><b>Ministry of Education<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (MoE) initiative and was launched during 2017.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It seeks to <\/span><b>bridge the digital divide<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for students who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an indigenously developed IT platform that facilitates<\/span><b> hosting of all the courses<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> taught in classrooms <\/span><b>from Class 9 till post-graduation<\/b> <b>to be accessed by anyone, anywhere, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at any time.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All the <\/span><b>courses are interactive,<\/b> <b>prepared by the best teachers<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the country, and are <\/span><b>available, free of cost, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to the residents in India.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><b>What is offered in SWAYAM?<\/b><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Courses <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that are taught in classrooms <\/span><b>from 9th class till post-graduation.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The courses hosted on SWAYAM are in<\/span><b> 4 quadrants:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>video lecture<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>specially prepared reading material<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that can be downloaded\/printed<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>self-assessment tests <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">through tests and quizzes and<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">an <\/span><b>online discussion forum <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for clearing the doubts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Categories of<\/span><b> courses include<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> &#8211; <\/span><b>Engineering<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Science<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Humanities<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Management<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Language, <\/span><b>Mathematics<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><b>Arts <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and Recreation, Commerce, General, Library, Education.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Courses delivered through SWAYAM are<\/span><b> available free of cost <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to the learners.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Students wanting certifications need to register<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and shall be <\/span><b>offered a certificate<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on successful completion of the course, <\/span><b>with a little fee.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>At the end of each course<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, there will be an <\/span><b>assessment of the student <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">through a proctored examination, and the marks\/<\/span><b>grades secured<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in this exam c<\/span><b>ould be transferred to the academic record <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the students.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">UGC and AICTE have already issued the UGC (Credit Framework for online learning courses through SWAYAM) Regulation 2016 advising the Universities to identify courses where credits can be transferred on to the academic record of the <\/span><b>sectors like Manufacturing, Energy, Computer Science<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>Engineering\/IT\/ITES, Management Studies, Healthcare, Hospitality and Tourism besides Indian Knowledge Systems.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It features <\/span><b>innovative elements<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> such as <\/span><b>multilingual content <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(available in 12 major Indian languages of the country), <\/span><b>AI-enabled guidance, credit recognition<\/b><span
