It\u00a0has a posterior,\u00a0accounting for 61 percent of its body length.<\/li>\n<li>It continuously secretes transparent mucus to form a sheath that prevents sand grains from entering parapodial space.<\/li>\n<li>It\u00a0crawls beneath smooth sand to form a moving capsule where the body is rarely visible,\u00a0leaving behind a trail like a turtle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What are Sea Slugs?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Sea slugs are a group of molluscs\u00a0that live primarily in marine habitats and are\u00a0slug-like.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>They can be\u00a0found from the\u00a0shallow intertidal to the deep sea and from the\u00a0polar regions to the tropics.<\/li>\n<li>The sea slugs are\u00a0rapid hunters and\u00a0feed upon mobile prey such as other shelled and unshelled sea slugs, roundworms, marine worms, and small fishes.<\/li>\n<li>So far,\u00a018 species have been discovered across the globe.\n<ul>\n<li>They are\u00a0distributed in temperate regions of the\u00a0Indo-Pacific Oceanic realm, but\u00a0three species are truly tropically\u00a0distributed, Melanochlamys papillata from the Gulf of Thailand, Melanochlamys bengalensis from West Bengal and Odisha coast and the present species.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What are invertebrates?<\/h3>\n<p>Invertebrate is any animal that lacks a vertebral column, or backbone, in contrast to the cartilaginous or bony vertebrates.
