{"id":21087,"date":"2026-05-07T15:15:41","date_gmt":"2026-05-07T09:45:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=21087"},"modified":"2026-05-07T15:26:33","modified_gmt":"2026-05-07T09:56:33","slug":"ibca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ibca\/","title":{"rendered":"International Big Cat Alliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>International Big Cat Alliance Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change launched the website and logo for the 1st International Big Cat Alliance (IBCA) Summit 2026 which is to be hosted by India in New Delhi.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About International Big Cat Alliance<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is an <\/span><b>inter-governmental international organisation<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> launched in April 2023 during the <\/span><b>50th anniversary of Project Tiger.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It focuses on the <\/span><b>conservation of<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> seven big cats &#8211; <\/span><b>Lion, Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard, Cheetah, Jaguar and Puma.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Objective:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To facilitate collaboration and synergy among stakeholders, consolidating successful conservation practices and expertise to achieve the conservation of big cats at a global level.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It brings together <\/span><b>95 range and non-range countries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, conservation partners, scientific organisations, and corporations to promote collaboration and share conservation practices.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Implementation agency:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The IBCA is implemented through the <\/span><b>National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and <a href=\"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/climate-change\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Climate Change<\/strong><\/a> (MoEFCC).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Founding Members<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><b>India<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Armenia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ecuador, Kenya, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Peru, Suriname, &amp;
