{"id":21136,"date":"2024-03-02T06:21:59","date_gmt":"2024-03-02T00:51:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=21136"},"modified":"2025-04-06T10:06:37","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T04:36:37","slug":"npg","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/npg\/","title":{"rendered":"Network Planning Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Network Planning Group<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an\u00a0Integrated Multimodal Network Planning Group (NPG) with heads of Network Planning Division of all\u00a0connectivity infrastructure Ministries &amp; Departments.<\/li>\n<li>It is responsible for\u00a0unified planning and integration of the proposals and assist the Empowered Group of Secretaries (EGoS) in respect of its mandate.<\/li>\n<li>It facilitates regular interactions between the stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>It will\u00a0guide all the Departments\/ Ministries responsible for\u00a0creation of economic zones and connectivity infrastructure during the planning phase itself.<\/li>\n<li>The parameters\/prescribed norms of the overall National Master Plan will be the overarching objective of the NPG for examining and\u00a0sanctioning future projects thus leading to minimising disruptions and strive for the creation of an ideal &amp; efficient operating system for all infrastructure projects in the country.<\/li>\n<li>Its role is to ensure:\n<ul>\n<li>integration of networks;<\/li>\n<li>enhance optimization through modification\/expansion\/new network creation;<\/li>\n<li>avoid duplication of works for holistic development of any region;<\/li>\n<li>reduction logistics costs through micro-plan detailing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What is PM GatiShakti?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an approach for growth\u00a0accelerating trustworthy infrastructure through synchronized, holistic, integrated and comprehensive planning based on knowledge, technology and innovation.<\/li>\n<li>PM GatiShakti National Master Plan provides comprehensive database of the ongoing &amp; future projects of various Ministries i.e. Infrastructure Ministries &amp; Ministries and States involved in\u00a0development of Economic Zones, integrated with 200+ GIS layers thereby facilitating planning, designing and execution of the infrastructure projects with a common vision.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is a special economic zone (SEZ)?<\/h3>\n<p>It is an area in a country that is designed to generate positive economic growth.
