Instead, it will\u00a0rely on a 360-degree evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Under the HPC model, the\u00a0students will be regularly assessed through class activities where they are not just passive learners but active agents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0activities will prompt students to apply diverse skills and competencies that will\u00a0demonstrate whether they\u00a0have been\u00a0able to grasp concepts.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0difficulty level they experience while performing a task will\u00a0also be assessed.\n<ul>\n<li>Teachers, thus,\u00a0will be able to register the strengths of a student, such as their ability to \u201ccollaborate\u201d, \u201cfollow instructions\u201d, show \u201ccreativity\u201d or \u201cempathy\u201d, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Similarly, weaknesses like \u201clack of attention\u201d, \u201cpeer pressure\u201d, \u201clack of preparation\u201d will\u00a0help teachers identify areas where students need help.<\/li>\n<li>A key feature of the HPC is that\u00a0students will have a say too,\u00a0evaluating their own as well\u00a0as their classmates\u2019 performance.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>It encourages students to\u00a0reflect on their progress through statements such as &#8220;I learned something new&#8221; or &#8220;I expressed my creativity.&#8221;\n<ul>\n<li>At\u00a0the middle stage (Classes 6 to 8), students are prompted to set academic and\u00a0personal\u00a0goals.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>An\u00a0&#8220;ambition card&#8221; allows students to outline their aspirations, areas for improvement, and the necessary skills and habits to fulfill their ambitions.<\/li>\n<li>The HPC seeks to\u00a0involve parents in the learning process, integrating their insights on homework, classroom engagement, and balancing screen time with extracurricular activities.<\/li>\n<li>Peer evaluation is also a key element, with students assessing their classmates&#8217; contributions to activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Benefits of Holistic Progress Card<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>The HPC goes\u00a0beyond numerical grades,\u00a0focusing on\u00a0descriptive and analytical evaluations\u00a0that encompass academic achievements as well as the development of\u00a0critical skills in a child.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It promotes a shift from\u00a0summative to formative assessment, fostering\u00a0competency-based evaluation and holistic growth.<\/li>\n<li>Additionally, it seeks to\u00a0provide teachers and parents with\u00a0insights to support each student\u00a0in learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is the National Council for Educational and Research Training (NCERT)?<\/h3>\n<p>NCERT is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
