Allied Services (IFTAS), and selected banks to develop this platform.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It facilitates the registered users to <\/span><b>search unclaimed deposits\/accounts across multiple banks at one place<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in a centralized manner.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are <\/span><b>30 banks,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which are part of UDGAM portal, and they cover around <\/span><b>90% of unclaimed deposits (in value terms) in the Depositor Education and Awareness (DEA) Fund of RBI.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>All unclaimed deposits\/accounts <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that are <\/span><b>part of the DEA Fund of RBI can be searched <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">in the UDGAM portal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It provides information related to <\/span><b>both individual and non-individual category of unclaimed deposits.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Whether a user can settle\/claim his\/her unclaimed deposits through UDGAM portal?\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No, the UDGAM portal <\/span><b>facilitates only<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the<\/span><b> search of unclaimed deposits<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\/accounts across multiple banks at one place and\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>provides information on the claim\/settlement process<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of each bank (which will be available in the search result).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The unclaimed deposits can be <\/span><b>claimed only from the respective bank.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>\u00a0What is the Unclaimed Deposit Reference Number (UDRN)?\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After registration on the UDGAM portal, a person will get UDRN, which is a <\/span><b>unique number generated through Core Banking Solution (CBS) by banks <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>assigned to each Unclaimed account\/<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> deposit transferred to the DEA Fund of RBI.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This number is used so that the <\/span><b>account holder<\/b> <b>or the bank branch<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> where the account is maintained <\/span><b>cannot be identified by any third party.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The UDRN enables the bank branches to <\/span><b>seamlessly settle claims received<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the customers\/depositors, who have made successful searches in the UDGAM portal.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>What are Unclaimed Deposits?<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to RBI, \u201cUnclaimed Deposits\u201d refers to <\/span><b>funds held in savings or current accounts <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">that have <\/span><b>remained inactive for a duration of 10 years, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">or <\/span><b>in the case of fixed deposits (FDs),<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> have <\/span><b>not been withdrawn within 10 years from the maturity date.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Such amounts are <\/span><b>transferred by banks to the &#8220;Depositor Education and Awareness&#8221;
