{"id":21296,"date":"2024-03-06T11:14:20","date_gmt":"2024-03-06T05:44:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=21296"},"modified":"2025-04-06T11:11:48","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T05:41:48","slug":"cycas-circinalis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/cycas-circinalis\/","title":{"rendered":"Cycas circinalis"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Cycas circinalis<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is popularly known as\u00a0Eenthu Pana in Kerala.<\/li>\n<li>It is known by different names like\u00a0Mund isalu (Kannada), madana kama raja (Tamil) and Malabari supari (Marathi) in different states.<\/li>\n<li>It belongs to cycads (family Cycadaceae), which are one of the world\u2019s\u00a0most threatened plant groups.<\/li>\n<li>These family trees have originated 300 million years ago during the Carboniferous period, cycads are the oldest extant group of seed plants.<\/li>\n<li>Features\n<ul>\n<li>It is an\u00a0evergreen palm-like tree that grows up to 25 ft.<\/li>\n<li>It typically occurs in fairly dense, seasonally dry scrubby woodlands in hilly areas.<\/li>\n<li>It is also facultative\u00a0deciduous in extremely dry times.<\/li>\n<li>Eenthu Pana is like areca nut.
