{"id":21399,"date":"2024-03-10T08:41:55","date_gmt":"2024-03-10T03:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=21399"},"modified":"2025-04-06T11:58:24","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T06:28:24","slug":"diets-of-excellence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/diets-of-excellence\/","title":{"rendered":"DIETS of Excellence"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About DIETS of Excellence<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>To strengthen teacher training, the\u00a0District Institutes of Education and Training (DIET) will be developed into centres of excellence.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Funding: Financial assistance, totalling to Rs 9000 crores, will be provided to States\/UTs for the physical upgradation of all 613 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) to develop them as DIET of Excellence in the country in a phased\u00a0manner in the next five years.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Upto\u00a0Rs. 15 Crore per DIET will be provided under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Samagra Shiksha for improving various infrastructural facilities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What are District Institutes of Education and Training?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an integral part of India\u2019s education system.<\/li>\n<li>It was established in every district of India as a result of the\u00a0National Policy on Education 1986.<\/li>\n<li>DIETs were designed to provide\u00a0quality training and support to teachers, teacher educators, and other educational personnel.<\/li>\n<li>The National Policy on Education 1986 was the first step towards achieving this goal.<\/li>\n<li>They were intended to serve as a hub of academic excellence and professional development.<\/li>\n<li>The initial focus of DIETs was on providing\u00a0pre-service and in-service training to teachers and teacher educators.<\/li>\n<li>They work closely with schools to identify the specific needs of students and develop teaching strategies that cater to those needs.<\/li>\n<li>They also work with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) to develop curriculum frameworks that are aligned with national education policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is Samagra Shiksha?<\/h3>\n<p>It is an overarching programme for the school education sector extending from pre-school to class 12.
