{"id":21491,"date":"2024-03-14T12:47:45","date_gmt":"2024-03-14T07:17:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=21491"},"modified":"2025-04-06T12:36:11","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T07:06:11","slug":"euscorpiops-krachan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/euscorpiops-krachan\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Euscorpiops Krachan?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Euscorpiops Krachan<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>This new species belongs to the\u00a0subgenus Euscopiops\u00a0and has been named Euscorpiops Krachan\u00a0after the national park in Thailand, where it was found.<\/li>\n<li>Scorpions in this genus have limited distribution ranges with a\u00a0high degree of endemism.<\/li>\n<li>They can be found\u00a0mainly in mountain areas, particularly in\u00a0places with numerous rock crevices.<\/li>\n<li>Features:\n<ul>\n<li>It\u00a0presents most of the features exhibited by scorpions of\u00a0the subgenus Euscorpiops.<\/li>\n<li>They are\u00a0very small in comparison to most\u00a0other species of the subgenus, reaching\u00a0just\u00a0over 1 inch in length.<\/li>\n<li>They are\u00a0brownish in colour; however,\u00a0females are darker than males.<\/li>\n<li>They also have\u00a0eight eyes and eight legs.<\/li>\n<li>Other scorpions of the Scorpiops genus\u00a0hunt through &#8216;ambush or sit-and-wait type of foraging&#8217;. It is believed that the new species employs similar strategies while hunting.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is a crevice?<\/h3>\n<p>\u00a0A crevice is a narrow opening resulting from a split or crack. It is a long, tight space often found on the face of a mountain or other geological formation.
