


{"id":21499,"date":"2024-03-14T04:19:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-13T22:49:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=21499"},"modified":"2025-04-06T12:39:01","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T07:09:01","slug":"electric-mobility-promotion-scheme-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/electric-mobility-promotion-scheme-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme:\u00a0<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It aims to further\u00a0<strong>accelerate the adoption of Electric Vehicles<\/strong>\u00a0in the country.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Funding:<\/strong>\u00a0It is a fund limited scheme with a total\u00a0<strong>outlay of Rs. 500 crore<\/strong>\u00a0for the period of 4 months.<\/li>\n<li>It is for faster adoption of electric two-wheeler (e-2W) and three-wheeler (e-3W) to provide further impetus to the green mobility and development of electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing eco-system in the country.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Scheme duration:<\/strong>\u00a0The Scheme duration is 4 months i.e. April 01, 2024 till July 31, 2024.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Eligible Electric Vehicle categories<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Two Wheelers (electric) (e-2W)<\/li>\n<li>Three-wheeler (electric) including registered e-rickshaws &amp; e-carts and L5 (e-3W)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The scheme will be applicable mainly to those e-2W and e-3Ws\u00a0<strong>registered for commercial purposes.<\/strong>\u00a0Further, in addition to commercial use, privately or corporate owned registered e-2W will also be eligible under the scheme.<\/li>\n<li>To encourage advanced technologies, the benefits of incentives will be extended to only those vehicles which are fitted with advanced battery.<\/li>\n<li>The EVs eligible for incentivisation under EMPS 2024 scheme must be manufactured and registered within the\u00a0<strong>validity period of EMPS -2024 certificate.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Components\u00a0<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Subsidies:<\/strong>\u00a0Demand incentives for e-2W &amp; e-3W. Available for consumers in the form of an upfront reduced purchase price (Rs. 5,000 per kWH) of EVs, which will be reimbursed to OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) by Government of India.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Administration of Scheme<\/strong>\u00a0including IEC (Information, Education and Communication) activities and fee for Project Management Agency (PMA).\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nodal Ministry:<\/strong>\u00a0Ministry of Heavy Industries<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: How Do All-Electric Cars Work?<\/h3>\n<p>All-electric vehicles, also referred to as battery electric vehicles (BEVs), have an electric motor instead of an internal combustion engine.
