Its narrowest point between two land areas is 56 km.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Iran borders it from the north, east and northeast<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, while <\/span><b>Oman and UAE<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> surround it from the <\/span><b>south and southeast.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is surrounded by <\/span><b>Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> from the <\/span><b>southwest and west <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>Iraq and Kuwait from the northwest.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>To the west,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> it <\/span><b>connects to a large river delta called Shatt al-Arab<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Here, the waters from two major <\/span><b>rivers, the Euphrates and the Tigris, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">flow into the Gulf.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has a coastline length of about 5,117 km, with <\/span><b>Iran having the longest coastline<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (1,536 km).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Islands:<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are <\/span><b>several islands<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the Persian Gulf, including <\/span><b>Bahrain<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Persian Gulf state.
