It is <strong>highly toxic in<\/strong> its <strong>inorganic form.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>People<\/strong> in the general population may be <strong>exposed to arsenic through drinking contaminated water<\/strong>, using contaminated water in food preparation and irrigation of food crops, industrial processes, eating <strong>contaminated food,<\/strong> and <strong>smoking tobacco.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Arsenic poisoning:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>It can occur when you take in <strong>high levels of arsenic<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Drinking contaminated water<\/strong> causes <strong>most cases<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Symptoms<\/strong> of immediate arsenic poisoning include <strong>nausea, vomiting<\/strong>, and <strong>diarrhea<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Long-term exposure<\/strong> can cause <strong>skin changes <\/strong>such as<strong> darkening and lesions.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Treatment<\/strong> may include the use <strong>of a chelating agent<\/strong> or <strong>bowel irrigation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Applications<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>Arsenic is a well-<strong>known poison<\/strong>.
