The plaintiff\u2019s goal is typically\u00a0accomplished if the defendant succumbs to fear, intimidation,\u00a0mounting legal costs or simple exhaustion\u00a0and abandons the criticism.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0remedies sought are usually\u00a0substantial amounts of damages, and generally aggressive or disproportionate to the subject matter of the dispute.<\/li>\n<li>SLAPP suits are\u00a0routinely filed for libel, slander, defamation, abuse of process, malicious prosecution,\u00a0conspiracy,\u00a0invasion of privacy, and tortious interference with contract or business relationships.<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0most common SLAPP suits have often\u00a0involved a powerful corporation suing local citizens for speaking against their company.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1) What is an Ex-parte Injunction?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a court order that is issued without hearing from the other party involved in the case. It is also known as a temporary restraining order. This type of injunction is only granted in emergency situations where there is a risk of irreparable harm if immediate action is not taken.
