is Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Scheme?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About AMRUT Scheme<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It was launched by the\u00a0Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on 25th June\u00a02015, in\u00a0500 selected cities and towns across the country.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It focuses on development of\u00a0basic infrastructure in the selected cities and towns in the sectors of water supply, sewerage and septage management, storm\u00a0water drainage,\u00a0green spaces and parks, and\u00a0non-motorized urban transport.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>A set of\u00a0Urban Reforms and Capacity Building have been included in the mission.<\/li>\n<li>AMRUT Mission has been\u00a0subsumed under AMRUT 2.0, which was launched on 01st October,\u00a02021.<\/li>\n<li>AMRUT 2.0, which was launched for a\u00a0period of five years, from the financial year\u00a02021-22 to the financial year\u00a02025-26, is designed to\u00a0provide universal coverage of water supply\u00a0through functional taps to all households\u00a0in all the statutory towns in the country and coverage of\u00a0sewerage\/septage management in 500 cities covered in the first phase of the\u00a0AMRUT scheme.<\/li>\n<li>AMRUT 2.0 will\u00a0promote a circular economy\u00a0of water through the development of\u00a0City Water Balance Plan (CWBP)\u00a0for each city focusing on recycle\/reuse of treated sewage, the rejuvenation of water bodies, and water conservation.<\/li>\n<li>It will\u00a0help cities to\u00a0identify scope for projects focusing on universal coverage of functional water tap connections, water source conservation, rejuvenation of water bodies and wells, recycle\/reuse of treated used water, and rainwater harvesting.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Based on the projects identified in CWBP, Mission envisages making cities \u2018water secure\u2019 through a circular economy of water.<\/li>\n<li>The mission also has a reform agenda on ease of living of citizens through reduction of non-revenue water, recycle of treated used water, rejuvenation of water bodies, augmenting double entry accounting system, urban planning, strengthening urban finance etc.<\/li>\n<li>Other components of AMRUT 2.0 are:\n<ul>\n<li>Pey Jal Survekshan to ascertain equitable distribution of water, reuse of wastewater, mapping of water bodies, and promote healthy competition among the cities \/towns.<\/li>\n<li>Technology Sub-Mission for water to leverage latest global technologies in the field of water.<\/li>\n<li>Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign to spread awareness among the masses about conservation of water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The\u00a0total indicative outlay for AMRUT 2.0 is \u20b92,99,000 crore including Central share of \u20b976,760 crore
