{"id":22071,"date":"2025-08-06T11:55:09","date_gmt":"2025-08-06T06:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=22071"},"modified":"2025-08-06T13:18:01","modified_gmt":"2025-08-06T07:48:01","slug":"lalit-kala-akademi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/lalit-kala-akademi\/","title":{"rendered":"Lalit Kala Akademi"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Lalit Kala Akademi Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 64th National Exhibition of Art (NEA), organized by the Lalit Kala Akademi, India\u2019s National Academy of Art, was recently inaugurated in New Delhi with a grand ceremony.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Lalit Kala Akademi<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lalit Kala Akademi, <\/span><b>National Academy of Art,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> New Delhi, was s<\/span><b>et up by the Government of India as an autonomous body,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> on 5th August, <\/span><b>1954<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, to<\/span><b> promote and propagate understanding of Indian art, in and outside the country.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was <\/span><b>inaugurated <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on 5th August 1954 by the <\/span><b>then Minister for Education, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Akademi was <\/span><b>given the status of statutory authority<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in 1957, under the <\/span><b>Societies Registration Act 1860.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Headquarters: New Delhi.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It functions through its <\/span><b>General Council, Executive Board,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and other <\/span><b>Committees<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has<\/span><b> regional centres<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> situated at <\/span><b>Chennai, Lucknow, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Garhi.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Funding:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is funded by the <\/span><b>Ministry of Culture.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The institution has been involved in <\/span><b>identifying and showcasing visual art.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It has <\/span><b>preserved and documented a permanent collection<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the highest order that reflects the vitality, complexity, and unfolding patterns <\/span><b>of contemporary, modern, folk, and tribal art in India.\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It <\/span><b>promotes the Visual Art of India in various countries<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the world through <\/span><b>Cultural Agreements and Cultural Exchange Programmes.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The<\/span><b> National Exhibition of Art<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is the most <\/span><b>prestigious annual event <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">of the Lalit Kala Akademi.\u00a0<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Begun in 1955, it is directed towards showcasing and representing visual advances in the year.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">: <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2152798\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PIB<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lalit Kala Akademi was inaugurated on 5th August 1954 by the then Minister for Education, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and was registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860.
