


{"id":22184,"date":"2024-04-05T01:04:31","date_gmt":"2024-04-04T19:34:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=22184"},"modified":"2025-04-06T17:59:54","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T12:29:54","slug":"sannati-bhuddist-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/sannati-bhuddist-site\/","title":{"rendered":"Sannati Bhuddist site"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Sannati Buddhist site:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the\u00a0ancient\u00a0<strong>Buddhist site\u00a0<\/strong>on the bank of\u00a0<strong>Bhima river<\/strong>\u00a0near Kanaganahalli (forming part of Sannati site) in Kalaburagi district, Karnataka.\u00a0It is also popular among tourists for the\u00a0<strong>Chandrala Parameshwari Temple.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Major findings in this site:\n<ul>\n<li>It is believed to have been developed in three constructional phases \u2013\u00a0<strong>Maurya, Early Satavahana and Later Satavahana<\/strong>\u00a0periods stretching from 3rd Century B.C. to 3rd Century A.D.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ranamandala<\/strong>\u00a0area of Sannati offers a unique chronological scale from\u00a0<strong>prehistoric to early historic times<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>An\u00a0<strong>inscription<\/strong>\u00a0written in the Prakrit language using the Brahmi script is also found here.<\/li>\n<li>The excavation also recovered another precious stone of historical importance \u2013 a stone\u00a0<strong>sculpture<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>portraying Mauryan Emperor Ashoka<\/strong>.
