{"id":22489,"date":"2024-04-14T05:33:57","date_gmt":"2024-04-14T00:03:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=22489"},"modified":"2025-04-06T20:02:18","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T14:32:18","slug":"impatiens-neo-uncinata","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/impatiens-neo-uncinata\/","title":{"rendered":"Impatiens neo-uncinata"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Impatiens neo-uncinata<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a new species of <strong>Impatiens<\/strong> (family Balsaminaceae).<\/li>\n<li>It has been discovered in the <strong>Western Ghats and has<\/strong> now been identified as a rare, wild cousin of the popular <strong>garden balsam.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It has been reported only from a single locality at an elevation ranging from 1,000 to 1,250 m, and that too in a very few numbers.<\/li>\n<li>It bears morphological resemblances to <strong>Impatiens uncinata <\/strong>but it differsin the size of the flowers, basal and distal lobes, the dorsal petal and pollen.<\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>a herb<\/strong> that grows up to 20 cm in height, with simple or branched stems. It grows in open areas of <strong>evergreen forests, particularly wetlands<\/strong>. Flowering and fruiting occurs from August to December.<\/li>\n<li>The genus Impatiens has over 1000 species distributed in the tropics and sub-tropics.<\/li>\n<li>In India, the <strong>Himalayan and the north-eastern regions<\/strong> account for the highest diversity of Impatiens.
