This compound consists of two attached to each other: <strong>ethylamine<\/strong> (CH3CH2NH2) and <strong>imidazole <\/strong>(C2N2H4), the latter being a ring.<\/li>\n<li>Depending on its location, histamine performs broadly four types of functions, each involving different histamine receptors <strong>called H1, H2, H3, and H4.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>H1 receptor<\/strong> is found mostly in the <strong>inner surface of blood<\/strong> and <strong>lymphatic vessels,<\/strong> neurons, and smooth muscle cells.<\/li>\n<li>H1 antihistamines are used to block the <strong>effects of minor allergies<\/strong>. Certain cells in the gastric glands release histamine, which encourage nearby parietal cells with H2 receptors to release gastric acid for digestion.<\/li>\n<li>H3 receptors are located in cells in the c<strong>entral nervous system<\/strong>, where they use histamine to regulate the release of other neurotransmitters, including dopamine and serotonin.<\/li>\n<li>Similarly, H4 receptors use histamine to <strong>regulate the body\u2019s inflammatory<\/strong> response, including allergic reactions as well.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Currently, there is a lot of research ongoing on H3 and H4 receptors, in particular to alleviate the effects of neurological and immunological disorders, respectively, using specialised drugs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What are Protein Binders?<\/h3>\n<p>These biological agents have emerged as an important and required class of ingredients to manufacture a wide range of new food products, especially semi-solid or solid foods.
