


{"id":23243,"date":"2024-05-10T10:44:32","date_gmt":"2024-05-10T05:14:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=23243"},"modified":"2025-04-07T01:12:58","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T19:42:58","slug":"indian-agricultural-research-institute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/indian-agricultural-research-institute\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI):\u00a0<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is <strong>India\u2019s largest<\/strong> and <strong>foremost Institute<\/strong> in the field of <strong>research andhigher education,<\/strong> and training <strong>in agricultural sciences<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The Institute is <strong>situated in Delhi<\/strong> and is <strong>administered by<\/strong> the <strong>Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>History<\/strong>:\n<ul>\n<li>IARI, <strong>popularly known as Pusa Institute<\/strong>, <strong>began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar<\/strong>) with the generous <strong>grant of 30,000 pounds from<\/strong> an American philanthropist, <strong>Henry Phipps.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The institute was <strong>then known as the Agricultural Research Institute<\/strong> (ARI), which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology.
