{"id":23399,"date":"2024-05-15T05:54:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-15T00:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=23399"},"modified":"2025-10-13T13:12:12","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T07:42:12","slug":"exercise-tarkash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/exercise-tarkash\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercise Tarkash"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Exercise Tarkash:\u00a0<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the <strong>seventh edition<\/strong> of the Indo-U.S. joint <strong>counter terrorism exercise.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is held between the elite <strong>National Security Guard<\/strong> (NSG) and the U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) commenced on April 22, 2024.<\/li>\n<li>The previous edition of the exercise was conducted at <strong>Chennai in January 2023.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This exercise encompassed intense training and mock drills in urban counter terrorism scenarios.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong> The primary objective of the bilateral exercise is to <strong>build functional relation and enhance interoperability<\/strong> between the two special forces in conducting coordinated counter terror operations in urban counter terrorism contingencies.<\/li>\n<li>The exercise is also aimed at <strong>improving bilateral cooperation<\/strong> between India and the U.S. in matters relating to combating terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations,\u201d a statement said.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The joint exercise also involved sharing of best practices, tactics, techniques and procedures, over a wide spectrum of counter terror operations, in urban environments including close quarter battle, building intervention drills and hostage rescue operations etc.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1:What is NSG?<\/h3>\n<p>National Security Guard is an elite force providing a second line of defence for the nation.
