{"id":23459,"date":"2024-05-17T03:27:13","date_gmt":"2024-05-16T21:57:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=23459"},"modified":"2025-04-07T02:40:36","modified_gmt":"2025-04-06T21:10:36","slug":"swachhata-pakhwada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/swachhata-pakhwada\/","title":{"rendered":"Swachhata Pakhwada"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Swachhata Pakhwada:\u00a0<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an initiative <strong>launched in April, 2016<\/strong> under the <strong>Swachh Bharat Mission.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Objective:<\/strong> It was launched with the objective of bringing a fortnight of intense focus on the issues and <strong>practices of Swachhata<\/strong> by engaging the central government ministries\/departments.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Aim:<\/strong> It aims to include all ministries and departments through a common programme to contribute for Swachh Bharat Mission.<\/li>\n<li>An annual calendar is pre-circulated among the ministries to help them plan for the Pakhwada activities.<\/li>\n<li>The ministries observing Swachhata Pakhwada are monitored closely using the online monitoring system of <strong>Swachhata Samiksha<\/strong> where action plans, images, videos related to Swachhata activities are uploaded and shared.<\/li>\n<li>For the Pakhwada fortnight, observing ministries are considered as \u2018<strong>Swachhata Ministries\u2019<\/strong> and are expected to bring qualitative swachhata improvements in their jurisdictions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key facts about Swachh Bharat Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Indian government launched the swachh bharat mission on <strong>October 2, 2014.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The mission covered all <strong>rural and urban areas.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The urban component of the mission is implemented by the <strong>Ministry of Urban Development,<\/strong> and the rural component by the <strong>Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The programme includes elimination of open defecation, conversion of unsanitary toilets to pour flush toilets, eradication of manual scavenging, municipal solid waste management and bringing about a behavioural change in people regarding healthy sanitation practices.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is Anaerobic treatment?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a proven and energy-efficient method for treating industrial wastewater.
