It was <\/span><b>followed by the US, Spain, Australia, and France.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> And, Germany, the UK, <\/span><b>China<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Switzerland, and Italy comprised the top 10.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>India Rankings:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India is ranked <\/span><b>31st, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">moving <\/span><b>up from 39th <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">place in 2024, helped by its <\/span><b>low travel costs, cultural resources, and natural attractions.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">India also ranks among the <\/span><b>top 10 economies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the <\/span><b>number of World Heritage cultural sites, along with China and Mexico.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report also pointed to some <\/span><b>challenges <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">for India. <\/span><b>Workforce skills, environmental sustainability, <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and <\/span><b>tourism infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> remain areas that need improvement.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Tourism conditions improve worldwide:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tourism conditions <\/span><b>improved across most economies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between 2024 and 2026.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>International tourist arrivals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reached<\/span><b> 1.5 billion in 2025<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, with arrivals <\/span><b>4.4% higher than pre-pandemic levels.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>101 of the 110 economies<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> covered by the index <\/span><b>improved their scores <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">during the period.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The average score rose 2.1%, the fastest growth since 2019.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Viet Nam, the Philippines, T\u00fcrkiye, Mexico, and Brazil,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> the <\/span><b>10 largest non-high-income travel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and tourism economies account for more than <\/span><b>28% of global direct travel and tourism GDP,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with their share projected to rise to 35% by 2035.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>News: <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/theprint.in\/feature\/global-tourism-is-having-its-biggest-bounce-since-2019-japan-is-no-1-destination\/3053536\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><b>TP<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Travel &#038; Tourism Development Index is published biennially by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
