The Koshi River system <strong>drains about 45% of Nepal.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The Kosi River valley is <strong>bounded by steep margins<\/strong> that <strong>disconnect it from the Yarlung Zangbo River<\/strong> to the north, the <strong>Mahananda River<\/strong> to the east, the <strong>Gandaki<\/strong> to the west, and the <strong>Ganga<\/strong> to the south.<\/li>\n<li>It is well <strong>known for its tendency to change course,<\/strong> generally in a westward direction.
