


{"id":24213,"date":"2024-06-14T01:35:48","date_gmt":"2024-06-13T20:05:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=24213"},"modified":"2025-10-07T13:15:16","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T07:45:16","slug":"ultrasound-imaging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/ultrasound-imaging\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Ultrasound Imaging?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About Ultrasound Imaging:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a <strong>noninvasive imaging test<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It <strong>uses high-frequency sound waves<\/strong> to <strong>create real-time pictures<\/strong> or videos <strong>of internal organs <\/strong>or other soft tissues, such as blood vessels.<\/li>\n<li>It is also <strong>called ultrasonography<\/strong> or <strong>sonography<\/strong>. <strong>Ultrasound images <\/strong>may be <strong>called sonograms.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Ultrasound enables healthcare providers to see the details of soft tissues inside your body <strong>without making any incisions<\/strong> (cuts).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Unlike other imaging techniques, ultrasound <strong>uses no radiation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Healthcare providers use ultrasound exams for several purposes, including during pregnancy, for diagnosing conditions, and for image guidance during certain procedures.<\/li>\n<li><strong>How does an ultrasound work?<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>During an ultrasound, a healthcare provider <strong>passes a device<\/strong> called a <strong>transducer<\/strong> or probe <strong>over an area of your body<\/strong> or inside a body opening.<\/li>\n<li>The provider <strong>applies a thin layer of gel to your skin<\/strong> so that the <strong>ultrasound wavesare transmitted<\/strong> from the transducer <strong>through the gel <\/strong>and into your body.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>probe converts electrical current into<\/strong> high-frequency <strong>sound waves<\/strong> and sends the waves into your body\u2019s tissue.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sound waves bounce off structures<\/strong> inside your body and <strong>back to the probe<\/strong>, which <strong>converts the waves into electrical signals<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The denser the object the ultrasound hits, the more of the ultrasound bounces back.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A computer then converts <\/strong>the pattern of <strong>electrical signals into real-time images<\/strong> or videos, which are displayed on a computer screen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Limitations:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sound waves don&#8217;t travel well through air or bone<\/strong>. This means ultrasound <strong>isn&#8217;t effective at imaging body parts that have gas<\/strong> in them <strong>or are hidden by bone<\/strong>, such as the lungs or head.<\/li>\n<li>Ultrasound may also <strong>not be able to see objects <\/strong>that are<strong> located very deep<\/strong> in the human body.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease?<\/h3>\n<p>Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, often called NAFLD, is a liver problem that affects people who drink little to no alcohol. NASH causes the liver to swell and become damaged due to the fat deposits in the liver.
