{"id":24383,"date":"2025-12-05T11:30:02","date_gmt":"2025-12-05T06:00:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=24383"},"modified":"2025-12-05T16:00:01","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T10:30:01","slug":"national-forensic-infrastructure-enhancement-scheme-nfies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-forensic-infrastructure-enhancement-scheme-nfies\/","title":{"rendered":"National Forensic Infrastructure Enhancement Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>National Forensic Infrastructure Enhancement Scheme Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the Minister of State in the Ministry of Home Affairs informed the Rajya Sabha about the National Forensic Infrastructure Enhancement Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About National Forensic Infrastructure Enhancement Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is a <\/span><b>Central Sector Scheme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> launched in 2024.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Aim:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The aim of the scheme is to help create a sound <\/span><b>forensic laboratory infrastructure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>prepare world<\/b> <b>class trained forensic professionals<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Nodal Ministry:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Ministry of Home Affairs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>Implementation Period:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 2024\u201325 to 2028\u201329.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Components of<\/b> <b>National Forensic Infrastructure Enhancement Scheme<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Establishment of campuses of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Establishment of Central Forensic Science Laboratories (CFSLs) in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enhancement of existing infrastructure of the Delhi Campus of the NFSU.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>What is the NFIES?<\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the <\/span><b>enactment of the New Criminal Laws,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which mandates forensic investigation for offences involving punishment of 7 years or more, there is significant increase in workload.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An increase in the workload of forensic science laboratories is expected.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To <\/span><b>address the significant shortage of trained forensic<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> manpower in the Forensic Science Laboratories (FSL) in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To alleviate the case load \/ pendency of forensic laboratories, and align with the Government of India\u2019s goal of securing a high conviction rate of more than 90%.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Source:<\/b> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pib.gov.in\/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2198254&amp;reg=3&amp;lang=1#:~:text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">PIB<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>National Forensic Infrastructure Enhancement Scheme is a Central Sector Scheme launched in 2024.
