{"id":24415,"date":"2025-01-16T02:51:15","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T21:21:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=24415"},"modified":"2025-04-07T09:22:40","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T03:52:40","slug":"what-is-the-fast-track-immigration-trusted-traveller-programme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-the-fast-track-immigration-trusted-traveller-programme\/","title":{"rendered":"What is the Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP)?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Fast Track Immigration \u2013 Trusted Traveller Program:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is an initiative to <strong>speed up the Immigration clearance process<\/strong> for eligible persons from the following categories: <strong>Indian Nationals and Foreign Nationals holding OCI Cards.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It was first launched at <strong>Delhi\u2019s IGI Airport in 2024.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Purpose:<\/strong> It has been introduced with the purpose of facilitating international mobility with faster, smoother and secure immigration clearances.<\/li>\n<li>To enroll in the scheme, the applicant has to <strong>register online on the portal<\/strong> with details and documents.<\/li>\n<li>One can sign up after successfully authenticating their identity through mobile OTP and email verification. One needs to ensure that the <strong>Passport is valid for at least 6 months<\/strong> at the time of applying for FTI-TTP.<\/li>\n<li>Applicants found eligible, will <strong>need to provide Biometrics<\/strong> (fingerprint and face image) in addition to the required information as per the data fields provided in the application form.<\/li>\n<li>Biometrics of the registered applicants will be captured at the <strong>Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO)<\/strong> or at the time of passage through the airport. The registered passenger has to scan the boarding pass issued by the airlines at the e-gates and then scan the passport.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Validity:<\/strong> The FTI registration will be valid for a maximum <strong>of five years<\/strong> or until the validity of the passport, whichever comes first.<\/li>\n<li>It will be <strong>implemented at 21 major airports<\/strong> across the country. In the first phase, in addition to Delhi, this facility is being introduced at seven major airports\u2014Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Ahmedabad.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Nodal Agency:<\/strong> The FTI-TTP is implemented through an online portal with the <strong>Bureau of Immigration <\/strong>being the nodal agency.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Significance:<\/strong> Once Indian and foreign citizens with OCI cards enroll and become members of the Fast Track Immigration -Trusted Traveller Programme, their immigration clearance will be faster, easier, and more secure.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is the fast track immigration trusted traveller programme?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a significant step under the &#8216;Viksit Bharat&#8217; 2047 initiative to provide world-class immigration facilities to travellers, making international travel seamless and secure.
