{"id":24617,"date":"2024-06-30T03:51:07","date_gmt":"2024-06-29T22:21:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=24617"},"modified":"2025-04-07T10:49:35","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T05:19:35","slug":"rim-of-the-pacific-rimpac-exercise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/rim-of-the-pacific-rimpac-exercise\/","title":{"rendered":"Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the world\u2019s largest <strong>international maritime exercise<\/strong>, being held in <strong>Hawaii.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is aimed at <strong>enhancing interoperability<\/strong> and building trust among the navies of friendly foreign countries.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It is being held under the theme of <strong>Partners: Integrated and Prepared<\/strong>, which runs until August 1.<\/li>\n<li>It is <strong>led by the US Navy,<\/strong> approx <strong>29 countries are participating<\/strong> in the current edition of the multi-dimensional exercise.\n<ul>\n<li>The <strong>harbour phase<\/strong> of the exercise from 27 June to 07 July 2024 will see participation in multiple symposiums, exercise planning discussions, sports competitions and reciprocal deck visits.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>sea phase<\/strong> of RIMPAC \u2013 24, divided into three sub-phases will witness ships undertaking basic and advanced level integration exercises during the first two sub-phases.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The exercise will witness the participation of an <strong>Aircraft Carrier Battle Group, submarines, maritime reconnaissance aircraft<\/strong>, unmanned aerial vehicles, remotely piloted surface ships and also an amphibious force landing operations including <strong>joint operations with special forces of multinational navies.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It provides a unique training opportunity while <strong>fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships<\/strong> among participants, critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security of the world&#8217;s oceans.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is INS Shivalik?<\/h3>\n<p>It is the lead ship of her class of stealth multi-role frigates built for the Indian Navy. It is the first stealth warship built by India.
