{"id":24703,"date":"2025-09-03T12:10:52","date_gmt":"2025-09-03T06:40:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=24703"},"modified":"2025-09-03T13:01:02","modified_gmt":"2025-09-03T07:31:02","slug":"exercise-maitree","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/exercise-maitree\/","title":{"rendered":"Exercise MAITREE"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><b>Exercise MAITREE Latest News<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recently, the 14th edition of the Exercise MAITREE-XIV commenced with a grand opening ceremony at Joint Training Node (JTN), Umroi, Meghalaya.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>About Exercise MAITREE \u00a0 <\/b><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is the joint military e<\/span><b>xercise between India and Thailand.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Exercise MAITREE, <\/span><b>instituted in 2006,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is one of the important joint training exercises between India and Thailand.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The bilateral exercise is part of the ongoing <\/span><b>military-to-military exchange programme<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> between the two countries and aims to enhance <\/span><b>cooperation, interoperability<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and mutual understanding between the Indian Army and Royal Thai Army.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The current edition further reinforces the bilateral defence cooperation and reflects the shared commitment of both Armies towards peace, stability and security in the region.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><b>13th edition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the exercise was held at Fort <\/span><b>Vachiraprakan in Tak Province, Thailand.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Indian Army contingent is being represented by <\/span><b>a Battalion of the Madras Regiment.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The joint exercise will focus on company level counter-terrorist operations in <\/span><b>semi-urban terrain under Chapter VII of the United Nations Charter.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The programme includes <\/span><b>tactical drills, joint planning, special arms skills<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, physical fitness and raiding operations.
