The missile and its launcher weigh about 15 kilograms. The <strong>launcher is reusable<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>It can be <strong>carried and fired by troops or mounted to a vehicle<\/strong> and used as short-range defense against aircraft.<\/li>\n<li>It uses a <strong>passive infrared seeker<\/strong>. The infrared seeker can lock on to the heat the target is producing.<\/li>\n<li>It is a &#8220;<strong>fire-and-forget&#8221; weapon<\/strong>, meaning it requires no input from the gunner once it&#8217;s fired.<\/li>\n<li>It can <strong>hit targets<\/strong> flying <strong>as high as 11,500 feet<\/strong> (3,500 meters), and has a <strong>range of<\/strong> about <strong>5 miles (8 kilometers).\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is Igla-S?<\/h3>\n<p>Igla-S is a man-portable air defence system (MANPADS) developed by Russia.
