{"id":2550,"date":"2023-02-02T09:28:18","date_gmt":"2023-02-02T03:58:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=2550"},"modified":"2025-03-25T22:29:28","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T16:59:28","slug":"agriculture-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/agriculture-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Agriculture Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Key schemes announced are:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>PM PRANAM (Prime Minister Programme for Restoration, Awareness, Nourishment and Amelioration of Mother Earth)<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>This programme will seek to incentivise states and union territories to promote alternative fertilisers and the balanced use of chemical fertilisers.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bhartiya Prakritik Kheti Bio-Input Resource Centres<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Under this10,000 Bio-Input Resource Centres will be set up, creating a national-level distributed <strong>micro-fertiliser and pesticide<\/strong> manufacturing network.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>This will impact over 1 crore farmers over the <strong>next three years<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Agriculture Accelerator Fund<\/li>\n<li>The Fund will aim at bringing innovative and affordable solutions for challenges faced by farmers.<\/li>\n<li>It will also bring in modern technologies to transform agricultural practices, and increase productivity and profitability.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cotton crop productivity enhancement\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Union government will adopt a <strong>cluster-based approach<\/strong> to enhance the cotton crop.<\/li>\n<li>To enhance the productivity of extra-long staple cotton, the government will adopt a cluster-based and value chain approach through Public Private Partnerships (PPP).\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Centre of excellence for millets<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Indian Institute of Millet Research, Hyderabad<\/strong> will be made into a Centre for Excellence and it will be supported for sharing best practices, research and technologies at the international level.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Agriculture credit to be increased<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The agriculture credit target will <strong>be increased to Rs 20 lakh crore<\/strong> with a focus on animal husbandry, dairy, and fisheries.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>GOBARdhan scheme<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Five-hundred new \u2018waste to wealth\u2019 plants under GOBARdhan (Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan) scheme will be established for promoting a circular economy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1)What are Millets?<\/h3>\n<p>Millets are small-grained, annual, warm-weather cereals belonging to the grass family.
