{"id":25509,"date":"2024-08-01T02:15:31","date_gmt":"2024-07-31T20:45:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=25509"},"modified":"2025-04-07T18:29:03","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T12:59:03","slug":"national-apprenticeship-training-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-apprenticeship-training-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"National Apprenticeship Training Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About National Apprenticeship Training Scheme:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is one of the flagship <strong>programmes of Government of India<\/strong> for Skilling Indian Youth in Trade disciplines.<\/li>\n<li>The National Apprenticeship Training Scheme under the provisions of the <strong>Apprentices Act, 1961 amended in 1973.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It offers <strong>Graduate, Diploma students and Vocational certificate<\/strong> holders; a practical, hands-on On-the-Job-Training (OJT) based skilling opportunities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Duration:<\/strong> Ranging from <strong>6 months to 1 year.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>During the period of apprenticeship, the apprentices are <strong>paid a stipend amount, 50%<\/strong> of which is reimbursable to the employer from the Government of India.<\/li>\n<li>At the end of the training period the apprentices are issued a <strong>Certificate of Proficiency by the Government<\/strong> of India which can be registered at all employment exchanges across India as valid employment experience.<\/li>\n<li>There is <strong>no guarantee of employment<\/strong> after completion of training as an apprentice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) 2.0 Portal<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It facilitates the registration and application process for apprenticeships, allowing industries to manage vacancies and contracts.<\/li>\n<li>This provides young graduates and diploma holders with essential employability skills and a guaranteed monthly stipend.<\/li>\n<li>It manages the entire <strong>apprenticeship lifecycle<\/strong>, including <strong>student registration<\/strong>, vacancy advertisements, applications, contract creation, certification, reporting, and stipend disbursal through DBT.<\/li>\n<li>It is developed by the <strong>Ministry of Education<\/strong> with <strong>AICTE and the Board of Apprenticeship Training\/Practical Training <\/strong>(BoATs\/BoPT).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is the Skill India mission?<\/h3>\n<p>It was approved by the Union Cabinet in 2015 to create convergence across sectors and States in terms of skill training activities.
