


{"id":25644,"date":"2025-03-01T07:57:13","date_gmt":"2025-03-01T02:27:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=25644"},"modified":"2025-04-07T19:28:49","modified_gmt":"2025-04-07T13:58:49","slug":"auroville","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/auroville\/","title":{"rendered":"Auroville"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Auroville Latest News<\/h2>\n<p>Auroville celebrated its 57th birth anniversary with bonfire meditation at the Amphitheatre, Matrimandir, recently.<\/p>\n<h2>About Auroville<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Auroville is an <strong>experimental international township <\/strong>in <strong>South India (in Tamil Nadu<\/strong>, near Pondicherry) where thousands of <strong>residents from over 60 countries<\/strong> are exploring <strong>alternative ways of living<\/strong>, working, and being together peacefully.<\/li>\n<li>It was <strong>founded by Mirra Alfassa,<\/strong> known as the <strong>\u2018Mother\u2019<\/strong>, the <strong>spiritual collaborator of Sri Aurobindo,<\/strong> on the 28th of February, <strong>1968<\/strong>, as an international cultural township.<\/li>\n<li>It was designed by the famous a<strong>rchitect Roger Anger.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It is the<strong> largest and oldest surviving international intentional community<\/strong> in the world.\n<ul>\n<li>It has flourished from a barren desert to a 3,000-acre township and bioregion in which more than 3 million trees have been planted, home to rich biodiversity, 9 schools, multiple social enterprises, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Auroville is a growing community of <strong>2,700 people from 50 nations, <\/strong>and the vision for Auroville is that it <strong>belongs to nobody in particular but humanity as a whole.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Aurovilleans, <\/strong>as they call themselves, live together on the <strong>principles of peace, harmony, sustainable living, <\/strong>and <strong>&#8216;divine consciousness<\/strong>&#8216; which was the philosophy of the Mother.<\/li>\n<li><strong>UNESCO had endorsed the project <\/strong>of Auroville through four resolutions in 1966, 1968, 1970, and 1983.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The township is under the <strong>administrative control of the Ministry of Education <\/strong>since 1980 and is <strong>administered as per<\/strong> the provisions of the <strong>Auroville Foundation Act, 1988, <\/strong>passed by the Parliament of India.<\/li>\n<li>According to the provisions of the Auroville Foundation Act, the <strong>Government of India provides partial funding<\/strong> in the form of grants to the Foundation for meeting its expenditure on the establishment, maintenance, and development of Auroville.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Auroville FAQs<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Q1<\/strong>.
