{"id":25672,"date":"2024-08-08T03:27:21","date_gmt":"2024-08-07T21:57:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=25672"},"modified":"2025-10-13T12:34:57","modified_gmt":"2025-10-13T07:04:57","slug":"national-coastal-mission-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-coastal-mission-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"National Coastal Mission Scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About National Coastal Mission Scheme:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It was <strong>launched in 2014.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It has been envisaged under the <strong>National Action Plan on Climate Change.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>It aims to address <strong>impact of climate change<\/strong> on coastal and marine ecosystems, infrastructure and communities in coastal areas through a combination of adaptation and mitigation measures<\/li>\n<li>It is under the <strong>National Coastal Management Program<\/strong> is implemented with the following components:\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Management Action Plan<\/strong> on Conservation of Mangroves and Coral Reefs<\/li>\n<li>Research &amp; Development in Marine and Coastal ecosystem<\/li>\n<li>Sustainable Development of Beaches under Beach Environment &amp; Aesthetic Management Service<\/li>\n<li><strong>Capacity Building \/ Outreach Programme<\/strong> of Coastal States\/UTs on conservation of marine and coastal ecosystem including beach cleaning drive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Implementation:<\/strong> The implementing agencies of NCM are the <strong>State Governments<\/strong> of Coastal States and <strong>Union Territory (UT) Administrations.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key facts about National Action Plan on Climate Change<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It was formally launched on <strong>June 30th, 2008<\/strong>. The NAPCC identifies measures that promote development objectives while also yielding co-benefits for addressing climate change effectively.<\/li>\n<li>There are eight \u201cNational Missions\u201d which form the core of the NAPCC. They focus on promoting understanding of climate change, adaptation and mitigation, energy efficiency and natural resource conservation.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>eight missions are:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>National Solar Mission, National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency,National Mission on Sustainable Habitat, National Water Mission, National Mission for Sustaining the Himalayan Ecosystem, National Mission for a Green India, National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture, National Mission on Strategic Knowledge for Climate Change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Q1: What is the Green India Mission?<\/h3>\n<p>Green India Mission was launched in the year 2014 as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
