The altitudes range between 1600-2400 m.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The park experiences a <strong>misty and cloudy climate throughout the year,<\/strong> and it receives <strong>heavy rain during<\/strong> the <strong>North-East monsoon.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Vegetation<\/strong>: It houses <strong>evergreen forests, moist deciduous forests,shola grasslands,<\/strong> and <strong>semi-evergreen<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Flora<\/strong>: It is host to 22 species of trees, 74 species of herbs and shrubs, and 16 species of climbers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Fauna:<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tigers<\/strong>, <strong>leopards<\/strong>, giant <strong>gizzard squirrels<\/strong>, the rarely spotted <strong>flying squirrels,Nilgiri Tahr,<\/strong> and spotted deer.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Nilgiri marten<\/strong>, the <strong>only species of marten found in South India<\/strong>, can also be spotted here.<\/li>\n<li>Around <strong>100 species of butterflies<\/strong> have been recorded at the park.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1<\/strong>: What is Nilgiri Tahr?<\/h3>\n<p>Nilgiri Tahr is the only Caprinae species found in the tropical mountains of southern.They are endemic to the Western Ghats and used to inhabit a large part of the Western Ghats between Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
