{"id":2606,"date":"2023-02-03T07:44:43","date_gmt":"2023-02-03T02:14:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=2606"},"modified":"2025-03-25T22:49:53","modified_gmt":"2025-03-25T17:19:53","slug":"what-is-export-import-bank-of-india-exim-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/what-is-export-import-bank-of-india-exim-bank\/","title":{"rendered":"What is Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank)?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>About EXIM Bank:<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is the <strong>premier export finance institution<\/strong> of the country.<\/li>\n<li>It was <strong>established by the Government of India<\/strong>, under the <strong>Export-Import Bank of India Act, 1981<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>EXIM Bank <strong>wholly owned by the Government of India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Services<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<li>EXIM Bank <strong>provides financial assistance to exporters and importers.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>It extends Lines of Credit (LOCs)<\/strong> to overseas financial institutions, regional development banks, sovereign governments and other entities overseas, to enable buyers in those countries to import developmental and infrastructure projects, equipment, goods and services from India, on deferred credit terms.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>It functions as the <strong>principal financial institution for coordinating the work of institutions engaged in financing export and import <\/strong>of goods and services with a view to promoting the country&#8217;s international trade.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Structure:<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The operations of the Bank are governed by a <strong>Board of Directors<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The Board of Directors consists of a<strong> chairman, a managing director, two deputy managing directors<\/strong>;
