{"id":26115,"date":"2024-08-27T08:49:23","date_gmt":"2024-08-27T03:19:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/?p=26115"},"modified":"2025-10-06T11:14:47","modified_gmt":"2025-10-06T05:44:47","slug":"national-medical-register-nmr-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/vajiramandravi.com\/current-affairs\/national-medical-register-nmr-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"What is National Medical Register (NMR) Portal?"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>About National Medical Register (NMR) Portal:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>It is a <strong>portal of the National Medical Commission (NMC<\/strong>) for the <strong>registration of all MBBS doctors<\/strong> eligible for registration in India.<\/li>\n<li>The NMR is <strong>mandated under <\/strong>Section 31 of the <strong>NMC Act, 2019,<\/strong> which states that the Ethics and Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the NMC shall maintain a National Register in electronic form containing the name, address, and all recognised qualifications possessed by a licensed medical practitioner.<\/li>\n<li>NMR will be a comprehensive and <strong>dynamic database for all allopathic (MBBS) registered doctors in India.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The uniqueness of the NMR is that <strong>it is linked with the Aadhaar ID of the doctors,<\/strong> which ensures the individual\u2019s authenticity.<\/li>\n<li>The whole process of registration in NMR is a very simple online process, and <strong>all themedical colleges<\/strong>\/institutions (including the Institutes of National Importance (INIs), etc.). <strong>State Medical Councils (SMCs)<\/strong> are <strong>interlinked on the portal.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Some data<\/strong> will be <strong>visible to the public<\/strong> and <strong>others will only be visible to the EMRB<\/strong> in <strong>the NMC, SMCs, <\/strong>the <strong>National Board of Examinations<\/strong> (NBE), and <strong>Medical Institutions<\/strong> (including INIs, etc.), and <strong>Registered Medical Practitioners<\/strong> (RMPs) as per the requirements.<\/li>\n<li>The NMR portal offers a variety of features, including the <strong>ability to add additional qualifications, track applications<\/strong>, <strong>suspend licenses,<\/strong> and issue<strong> NMR ID cards<\/strong> and <strong>digital doctor certificates.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>NMR will be <strong>upgraded<\/strong> and augmented <strong>with continuous improvements<\/strong> in the registration process on the portal.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Q1<\/strong>: What is the National Medical Commission (NMC)?<\/h3>\n<p>The National Medical Commission is a statutory body established under the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. The NMC replaced the erstwhile Medical Council of India (MCI) which was established in 1934.It regulates medical education and medical professionals in the country.
